The Student Peace Prize has been awarded by all Norwegian students biennially since 1999 and we are now in the process of selecting the next Laureate. The Prize will be awarded during the International Student Festival in Trondheim (ISFiT) in March 2025, in cooperation between ISFiT, The National Union of Students in Norway (NSO) and Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (SAIH).

Nominations are carefully evaluated and researched by the Nomination Committee, which consists of 6 students from all over Norway. We are now recruiting the members and leader of the Nomination Committee and looking for students with interests and knowledge within Human Rights, Peace and Democracy. The process starts with reaching out to organizations all over the world and getting new nominations from a broad range of student organizations. After the nominations are closed, the committee will research the nominees and write a report on the 4-6 best candidates. Afterwards the report will be sent to the Peace Prize Committee, who will then select the next Laureate of the Student Peace Prize.

As a member of the Nomination Committee, you will get first hand knowledge in student activism and how young people around the world fight for peace, human rights and democracy. Furthermore, there will be 5-6 physical seminar weekends, in either Trondheim or Oslo. During these seminars there will be lectures given by some of the foremost researchers and others within peace, human rights and democracy. When the next Laureate receives their prize in March 2025, you will be invited to the Ceremony in Trondheim. All costs are covered by The Student Peace Prize.

We are looking for students from all over Norway, within different kinds of study programs. If you have interests in politics and peace processes, apply through this link:

You can apply as a member and leader, or both. Digital interviews for members will be carried out in the first and second week of January, leader interviews in the middle of December.

Deadline for Leader of Nomination Committee: 11. December

Deadline for Member of Nomination Committee: 14. January
