The Peace Prize Ceremony

This upcoming Sunday, the 14th of February, the 12th Peace Prize Ceremony will be held to honour the Student Peace Prize laureate – METU LGBTI+ Solidarity. Since the inception of the Student Peace Prize, the laureate has been invited to Trondheim to receive the Prize. However, this year, due to the covid situation, we have not had the opportunity to welcome the laureate in Trondheim. Instead, the Peace Prize Ceremony will be carried out as a digital event on Sunday the 14th of February, and a version will be made publicly available on the 17th of February.

We hope that you will enjoy the first digital Peace Prize Ceremony!

Melike Balkan and Ozgür Gür represent the laureate of the Student Peace Prize 2021 – METU LGBTI+ Solidarity.

To honour the laureates we have invited local artist Sara Fjeldvær, the student choir, Knauskoret, and the student symphony orchestra, Studentersamfundets Symfoniorkester, to play lovely music. We also have artistic performances from Fargespill, a group of children to sing and dance, and the tissue dancer Erika Hågensen. In addition, we have invited powerful speakers relating to the cause of the laureates. Gisle Agledahl is the host bringing all these different acts together.
